Cashless Restaurant in the New School
HOW WILL THIS WORK?
Firstly the student will place their finger on a reader which displays a photograph of the student, their name and current cash balance. They may then top up their account by inserting coins or there will be facilities to pay by cheque or notes.
The system works exactly the same for all students. If your child is on free school meals an amount will be allocated on a daily basis to the value of a free school meal.
A digital signature of your child’s finger is turned into a mathematical biometric algorithm. The mathematical biometric algorithm cannot be used to recreate an image of your child’s finger.
If you do not wish your child to be included in this biometric reading but if they wish to use the school restaurant they will need to purchase a photo ID card from the school for £5. Should you decide to purchase a card please inform Mr Johnson direct at Failsworth School, in writing, by Friday 11th January 2008, otherwise we will register your child’s biometric details next week in readiness for the move in February.
This year our students will have an extended February half term to allow both staff and removers to move books and equipment from the two sites into our new school.
The February half term holiday for pupils will be as follows:-
-
ALL pupils will break up for half term on Wednesday 6th February 2008 at 3 pm.
-
Year 11 will return to school on Monday 25th February at 8.35 am.
-
Years 7 and 9 will return to school on Tuesday 26th February 2008 at 8.35 am.
-
Years 8 and 10 will return to school on Wednesday 27th February at 8.35 am.
