Welcome to Expressive and Creative Arts
Our results are among the best in the school, with last year's 20% above the school average. The Expressive Arts continue to be very popular at Failsworth School with at least half of each group opting for at least one of the courses on offer. The Expressive Arts cluster paves the way with vocational learning, offering BTEC Art, BTEC Media and soon to be introduced BTEC Performing Arts, as well as several GCSE options. The school was awarded the Artsmark Gold award in 2006 as a testimony to a "creative and innovative" department.
The arts are celebrated at Failsworth. Pupils study Art, Drama, Media and Music as part of the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum. All pupils in KS3 study a full range of skills and opt from a selection of courses at KS4.
